Just the Way You Look Tonight - Marina Bay Sands

One of the iconic buildings in Singapore is Marina Bay Sands, three towers that hold a massive boat atop.  This building is like no other in the world and it truly a unique and incredible sight that never ceases to amaze me.  And while seeing the building from around the bay is stunning to see, the real special view is from the 57th floor on the “boat deck”.

Friday night Niles, Ethan, and I had reservations at the Chocolate and Cheese Bar
which is located right in the middle of the boat on the “top deck”.  The three of us got all dressed up and in Cinderella fashion hopped on the ever economical MRT (subway) and headed to our destination.  The elevator took us up in what seemed to be 4 seconds making our ears pop and heads get a smidge dizzy.  But when we walked out, we were greeted with the most amazing sight.  Hardwood paneled floors lead the way to the restaurant with a feeling of walking on a sailboat.  We then saw it, the infamous infinity pool of Marina Bay Sands.  The wading pool sits right on the edge of the skyline and is just plain terrifyingly amazing.  Unfortunately we didn’t follow the age old kids rule of pack a bathing suit, there might be a pool!  Plus to go in you must be a hotel guest which equates to a $350+ per night rate.

After staring at the pool we made our way to our seats which looked out over the ocean and some Indonesian islands in the distance.  Gardens by the Bay had their trees lit up and the hundreds of boats in the harbor made for a sparkly scene.
Dinner with a view!  Gardens by the Bay are the blue lights and the two domes on the left and out in the distance are the boats in the harbor.

And finally we brought our attention to the large tables of worldly cheeses and indulgent chocolates.  We each opted for a wine tasting (on special that night, “don’t you just looove a bargin”) which included a sauvignon blanc, shiraz-cabernet blend, and a port.  Then we headed to the cheese bar to fill our plates with a variety of cheese I have never heard of.

All in all it made for a lovely, relaxed, and fancy evening.  Though Niles and I weren't allowed to eat from the chocolate bar due to the possibility of nuts in most desserts (Niles has a nut allergy), we enjoyed our cheese only options and vicariously made Ethan try each chocolate indulgence and give us reviews.  The evening ended with a warm cappuccino and a photo shoot.

It’s always fun to get dressed up and have special evenings out.  And while for now our budgets couldn’t get us a dip and epic Instagram picture from the infinity pool, I’d say we made out just fine regardless!

I’m always a happy girl when I get to stand next to my handsome guy-
