An Afternoon on Sentosa Island

Sunday fun-day had our gang of three, Niles+Ethan+Me, headed to Singapore’s Sentosa Island.  This island is just to the south west of Singapore and offers a few beaches, attractions such as Universal Studio and an aquarium, as well as plenty of restaurants/bars.  It took us about an hour via public transportation to arrive which was too bad considering we didn’t have to deal with parking or any long queues.

Siloso Beach was our first stop and we took a nice walk along the water before making a stop for lunch.  We ate at the Wave House where we got to relax on couches while enjoying frozen drinks and HUGE servings of munchies (you definitely get your money’s worth)!  The fun came from watching people try and catch a wave on the flow barrel – a pool that makes a barrel wave to ride on.

After we were filled up on food, we walked over to Palawan Beach where the Color Run was starting their pre-race festivities.  Luckily we managed not to get caught in any color cross-fire as we made our way to the “Southernmost point of Continental Asia”.  Quotations are required as this wasn’t even the southernmost point of Sentosa…regardless we couldn’t help ourselves with crossing the long, skinny rope bridge and taking in the views from the towers on the other side.
The long, skinny bridge to get to the "Southernmost point of Continental Asia".  It felt like Peter Pan to me!

The heat and humidity had us on a search for a frosty drink before we headed to the S. E. A. Aquarium.  The aquarium was huge and took us through tunnels featuring small and large underwater worlds.  My favorite was the clown fish tank and sea anemame…manememy…sorry can’t help myself with the Finding Nemo quote.  Plus the aquarium was smart enough to put Dory in the tank with them, though she looked quite confused the whole time haha!

We finished our walk through the aquarium with the shark tank before making the long trip back on the MRT.  Overall it was a successful day and I can’t wait to go back and explore more of Sentosa!
